Camel Men, Women Drop Season Opener to Williams Walsh Sets School Record and Komninos Wins 100 Back

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College swimming and diving teams opened the season Saturday with a meet against NESCAC rival Williams College at Lott Natatorium. The Ephs earned a 166-112 victory in the men´s action and topped the Camels by a count of 180-108 in the women´s race.

The Camels had plenty of individual highlights to go along with some exceptional performances in the relays. Williams captured the men´s and women´s NESCAC Championship in 2008.

Camels Finish Fifth at Men's NESCAC Championships with 832 Points

MIDDLEBURY, Vt.--The Connecticut College men´s swimming and diving program competed in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) at Middlebury College this weekend. Sophomore All-America Grant Moryan (Westfield, N.J.) automatically qualified for the NCAA Championship in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 20.67 in the prelims. The Camels recorded seven NCAA B cut times at the Championship, finishing fifth with 832 points.

Murphy, Palmer & Zarba Provisionally Qualify for NCAA Championship Brochu Sets School Record in 50 Yard Breast

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--The Connecticut College women´s swimming and diving program visited Wesleyan University this weekend for the 2008 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship. The Camels finished fourth with 831 points, matching their highest finish at the conference meet. Three Camels met provisional qualifying times for the 2008 NCAA Championship. Two Connecticut College swimmers will be formally named to the All-NESCAC Squad Tuesday.
