About Connecticut College

Faculty
Connecticut College has 149 full-time professors; 97 percent hold a doctorate or equivalent. All classes are taught by professors. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1. Men and women are equally represented on the faculty.
Leo Higdon is Connecticut College's 10th president. He comes to CC from the College of Charleston, where he held the presidency of the school from October 2001 to June 2006. Location and Campus
Located on the scenic Connecticut coastline, the College offers one of the most beautiful campuses in New England, with granite and limestone buildings constructed in the Classical and neo-Gothic styles. The campus is situated within the Connecticut College Arboretum, which encompasses 750 acres of preserved open space. The College green commands dramatic views of Long Island Sound and downtown New London (pop. 26,000).
The College is just minutes away from beaches, nature preserves, major concert venues, coffeehouses, and bookstores. Providence, Hartford, and New Haven can be reached in less than an hour; New York and Boston are approximately two hours away by car.
