NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College swimming and diving teams hosted Trinity and Wheaton College for a tri-meet at Lott Natatorium Saturday. The Camels swept their opponents in convincing fashion, winning 27 of 31 events on the afternoon.

The men knocked off Trinity by a score of 198-91 and tamed the Lyons of Wheaton College with a 197-87 win. The women defeated the Bantams of Trinity in a 205-88 triumph and upended Wheaton by a final of 189-109.

In the men's action, five different Camels were multi-event winners but just about everyone had a hand in the win. Senior Grant Moryan (Westfield, N.J.) took the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events with winning times of 49.19 seconds and 1:49.79. Sam Perley (Charlotte, N.C.) won the 100 and 200 yard breast, posting times of 1:01.03 and 2:19.97.

Junior Harry Squires (Caldwell, N.J.) was victorious with a time of 17:26.10 in the one-mile freestyle (17:26.10) and added a second win in the 500 yard free (4:54.32). Pat Troy (Bradford, N.H.) notched victories in both the 50 yard free and 100 yard butterfly with times of 21.89 and 51.17 seconds. In the 100 and 200 yard backstroke, Tim Walsh (Lincoln Park, N.J.) posted victories with respective times of 53.73 seconds and 1:54.29 for the Camels.

Other individual events winners included Chris Pielock (Deerfield, Mass.) in the 200 yard fly (2:06.79) and Albert Perley (Charlotte, N.C.) in the 400 yard individual medley (4:30.50).

The men notched a pair of wins in relay events. In the 200 yard medley relay, Tim Walsh, Sam Perley, Brian Finnerty (Garden City, N.Y.) and Grant Moryan teamed up on a winning time of 1:38.54. The Camel foursome comprised of Pat Troy, Austin Meszaros (Morristown, N.J.), Finnerty and Walsh posted a time of 3:17.64 to win the 400 yard free relay.

Junior Sarah Murphy (Williamsburg, Va.) paved the way to the victory for the Camel women with three victories. In the 100 yard free, Murphy posted a winning time of 55.12 seconds. She added victories in both the 100 and 200 yard butterfly with times of 59.94 seconds and 2:09.53.

Sophomore Hillary Scott (Chapel Hill, N.C.) contributed a pair of wins in the 400 yard individual medley (4:53.06) and the one-mile freestyle (18:35.41).

Other event winners included: Maureen Costello (Havertown, Pa.) in the 200 yard back (2:14.15); Erika Fernandes (Westport, Mass.) in the 50 yard free (25.25 seconds); Katie Karlson (Wayland, Mass.) in the 100 yard breast (1:09.78); Caitlin Munns (Westfield, Mass.) in the 200 yard free (1:59.78); Lauren Pappas (Stratford, Conn.) in the 500 yard free (5:27.53) and Jessica Schanzer (Monterey, Calif.) with a time of 1:02.73 in the 100 yard backstroke.

In the 200 yard medley relay, Jessica Schanzer, Katie Karlson, Leigh Weymouth (Canandaigua, N.Y.) and Erika Fernandes teamed up for a winning time of 1:53.16. The Camel foursome comprised of Schanzer, Caitlin Munns, Mackenzie Lilly (Frederick, Md.), and Sarah Murphy logged a time of 3:42.40 to pull out a victory in the 400 yard free relay.

The Camels will host the University of Maine and Southern Connecticut State tomorrow afternoon for a noon-time tri-meet at Lott Natatorium.
