UCONN Sweeps Connecticut College Troy, Fernandes are Individual Event Winners for Camels PDF Print E-mail

STORRS, Conn.--The Connecticut College swimming and diving teams visited the University of Connecticut Saturday for a dual meet against the Huskies at The Wolff-Zackin Natatorium. The Camels dropped a 169-113 decision in the men's action and were defeated 158-114 by the women.

The Camels had some strong performances against their Division I opponent. Senior Pat Troy (Bradford, N.H.) cruised to victory in the 100 yard butterfly, posting a winning time of 50.90 seconds for the visitors.

In the 200 yard medley relay, the Camel foursome comprised of Tim Walsh (Lincoln Park, N.J.), Sam Perley (Charlotte, N.C), Troy, and Grant Moryan triumphed in a time of 1:35.51. Troy, Walsh, Brian Finnerty (Garden City, N.Y.) and Moryan posted a winning time of 1:26.99 in the 200 yard freestyle relay.

Sophomore Erika Fernandes (Westport, Conn.) coasted to victory in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.69 seconds for Connecticut College.
